Extras You Can Try Adding to Your Everyday Coffee

While many of us are entirely content with a basic instant or drip coffee, possibly with milk and sugar, there are plenty of different things you can add to your coffee to enhance the taste. From common additions like cream to surprising ingredients like vanilla extract; it’s worth giving some of these a try if you’re looking to try something new.

Some additions to your coffee can even enhance health or reduce the number of calories you take in with each cup, making these ingredients worth exploring. Below we’ll take a look at some of these extras you can add to your coffee in a cafe, or at home.

CLASSIC CREAM

Just about everyone knows that cream is classically added to coffees such as cappuccinos in many cafes. It’s a popular addition because the sweetness of the cream contrasts well with the bitterness of the coffee, it’s also popular because chocolate powders and such can be easily sprinkled on top.

The next time you’re visiting your local cafe for a delicious coffee, try asking for some cream if you haven’t tried it before. We’re betting you’ll love the taste!

TRY CINNAMON

While it’s less common, some people like to add cinnamon to their coffee to add a new dimension of flavour. It also makes a great sugar substitute, so it can be perfect to add to your coffee if your goal is to lose weight, you’d be surprised how many calories you drink up through sugar.

There are also health benefits associated with consuming cinnamon, which further adds to its usefulness as a sugar substitute. One great health benefit of cinnamon includes a stronger immune system.

FIND SOME VANILLA EXTRACT

Just like cinnamon, vanilla extract can be a fantastic alternative to sugar, allowing you to enjoy a sweet vanilla-tasting coffee, without the calorie-rich sugar affecting your diet. Apart from the reduction in calories, the main advantage of using this ingredient is purely because of the new vanilla taste, with or without sugar it can make a nice coffee taste even nicer.

Most people have vanilla extract lying around for making cakes and other sweet foods, so why not fish it out of the cupboard and try it in your next coffee?

ADD A LITTLE COCONUT MILK

For those of you who want to enjoy a white coffee without any dairy products, try adding some coconut milk instead. Naturally, it’s also a fantastic idea if you’re a fan of the taste of coconut which tends to go well with coffee.

Coconut milk is often used in dishes such as curries, so if you have some left over from making a meal, add some to your coffee and give it a try; you just might find that you prefer it over your usual milk.

TRY ADDING SOME EXTRAS TO YOUR NEXT COFFEE SOON

The fun part of adding these extras to your coffees is finding some really delicious combinations to use when you fancy a little change now and again. We recommend trying each of the above ingredients in your coffee, then combining some of them for a new flavour if you’re feeling adventurous.

Good Cup Coffee Company hopes you find some really delicious combinations of ingredients to add to your coffee, there are thousands of combinations out there waiting to be tasted.

What Is Coffee Roasting?

According to the British Coffee Association, we drink over 55 million cups of coffee every day in the UK.

With this amount of coffee powering the nation, how exactly does coffee get from the plant or tree to you cup?

Coffee is grown, the harvested, dried, roasted then packed. So here’s the roasting process, which gives each individual coffee its particular flavour and aroma!

1. Coffee beans are roasted at a temperature of around 550 degrees Fahrenheit, usually on a heated conveyor which prevents the beans from burning

2. This heat causes oil in the beans to seep to the surface, which causes the bean to cook or roast. This process is called pyrolysis.

3. Once roasted, the beans are then cooled naturally or using water.

4. They should be vacuum packed immediately to preserve freshness.

The World’s Most Ethical Coffee

At Good Cup coffee, we only sell the very finest coffee, whether it’s for your coffee shop, hotel, work place or for your enjoyment at home.

We pride ourselves on being responsible and ethical coffee suppliers, so you can be sure that every bean comes from a sustainable and ‘better than fair trade’ source. In fact, we’re Rainforest Alliance Certified so you know that from plantation to cup, you’re getting the highest quality from the most ethical coffee company in the world.

The Journey of Quality Coffee Supplies

As the weather in the UK isn’t suitable for growing and farming coffee beans, they are imported from coffee bean farms in places like Colombia and Brazil. Just from knowing this, you can already begin to realise how long the journey is from coffee beans on the farm to the delicious hot beverage found in your mug.

There are many different processes that coffee beans go through before they reach cafes and supermarkets. From being grown, harvested and going through quality control, to being freshly packaged, transported and sorted for sale and delivery. By only buying from a well-established coffee supplier, you can relax knowing that you’re getting a high quality and genuine product that won’t disappoint.

Below we’ll take a look at the journey of quality coffee supplies in more detail.

At the Coffee Bean Farm

This is where it all begins, with humble coffee farmers tending to their coffee bean plants in places like Colombia. These farmers work alongside ethical coffee suppliers like The Good Cup Coffee Company to ensure that they receive a fair wage for their hard work. This is why we offer our speciality rainforest espresso which goes beyond fairtrade.

From being farmed and treated, these quality coffee beans are transported over to the supplier in the UK who gets them ready for clients to buy them.

At the Well-Established Coffee Supplier

A good coffee supplier will receive these fantastic coffee beans directly and will check and sort them to ensure only the best of quality. Once this is done, the coffee beans are then packaged well into quality packaging to seal in their freshness and to make them suitable for quick delivery.

Valued clients then order their coffee supplies online or over the phone, with a fast and reliable delivery ensured.

3 Signs of a Great Coffee Wholesaler

Buying coffee from a coffee wholesaler means choosing a company that excels in multiple important areas. Your coffee wholesaler should not only provide the highest quality coffee beans and accessories, they should also make purchasing coffee a simple and easy process.

No matter if you’re a cosy local cafe or a large multinational business, selecting a great coffee wholesaler is important if you care about quality, reliability, and efficiency.

Below we’ll take a look at 3 signs of a great coffee wholesaler.

FANTASTIC QUALITY COFFEE

Naturally, you wouldn’t buy coffee from a company that doesn’t stock a quality product. From coffee beans to filter coffee, the product has to be delicious to be worth investing in.

It’s not just the flavour that matters though, it’s the price. Look out for coffee wholesalers who constantly monitor the trade prices of different types of coffee and adjust their prices accordingly. These are the coffee wholesalers who tend to always offer the most competitive prices, often having sales that aren’t to be missed!

A QUICK & EFFICIENT SERVICE

Customers will gravitate towards the coffee wholesaler who has their needs and wants at heart. They want a fast and reliable service that they can use time and time again without any issues. It’s always a good idea to only consider using the services of coffee wholesalers who you know offer such a service.

How can you know if a coffee wholesaler offers exceptional service? Check their website for testimonials from previous happy customers. Testimonials are key; if a coffee supplier doesn’t have any testimonials, be wary of ordering from them.

CATERING TO ALL TYPES OF CUSTOMER

If a coffee wholesaler provides coffee beans and other products to a range of different clients, you can be surer that they know how to do business with all kinds of companies and establishments. This is great for customers as each one gets an individual-centred service which meets all of their needs and wants.

It also shows that the coffee wholesaler has a wide and varied experience when it comes to customer service. You’re much more likely top find that a coffee wholesaler who caters to a large range of establishments is more effective at dealing with your needs and requirements.

High Search Rankings

When you search for a really great coffee supplier online via a search engine for google, what companies appear highest in the list? It’s considered a good rule of thumb that the higher the business’s website is in the search rankings, the more popular and trusted that company is.

An Amazing Website

Once you’ve chosen a Glasgow coffee supplier, check out their website to see if it pleases the eye. A well-established coffee supplier will have a very professional website filled with all the information you’ll need if you want to buy coffee supplies and accessories online.

How simple the website is to navigate and how polished it looks will be a good indicator that this business cares about its customers’ experience with them, which is a good sign indeed.

A Fantastic Selection of Goods

Of course, a great coffee supplier can only be as good as the number of great coffee supplies they can offer to customers. Check out the coffee supplier’s range of supplies, from coffee beans to accessories, a large range of quality products is naturally a great sign.

It’s always worth checking out testimonials on how good the products are, as well as how great the service provided by the coffee supplier is. These are possibly the best ways to learn about how good a coffee supplier the company actually is.
